Guest Blogger! Eco Chic ideas from Robin with 'Things to Play With'

It's that time of year when our backyards and patios become an extension of our living room as we try to spend as much time outdoors as possible soaking up all the beauty spring has brought us. Lunch dates and birthday celebrations become picnics and tea parties and for that we need some party favors!

I love the idea of embracing spring with some favors that are full of life... potted plants can double as centerpieces to bring the spring to the table and at the end of the festivities they can leave with the guests.

Seed packets and fresh herbs make adorable favors and add a punch of color to the table. I really love this cost cutting diy tutorial that uses hand stamping to decorate small envelopes filled with seeds and these little bundles from Martha.

Making your own terrariums is not only a lovely party favor, but also a great gift idea for so many occasions. One can purchase starter kits like this and this or simply use mason jars or other small receptacles laying about the house. These tutorials take all the guess work out of the process and turn it into a really fun project (here and here). It could even be a fun activity to make them with your guests at your intimate event... or just throw a terrarium building party!
If you love these favors but the diy aspect doesn't appeal to you or there's just not time, I really love these little herb kits from favor creative. There's really no end to the possibilities when it comes to using plants as thoughtful, eco-friendly favors for your next event or even your wedding, and your guests will be able to enjoy them for a long time!
